How to play: you play red and move first. Pieces step one square diagonally forward, and take by hopping over a neighbouring enemy piece to the empty square beyond it. A capture is compulsory: if a jump is on the board, that is what you must play, and a piece that lands where it can jump again keeps going in the same turn. Reach the far row and your piece is crowned a king, which may move and jump backwards as well. Take every enemy piece — or leave your opponent with no legal move — to win.
