How to play: le professeur writes an ENGLISH word or sentence on the board and you give it back in French. Most questions are four choices — each shows the French with its reading, and the two small buttons beside it copy it to your clipboard and say it aloud, as often as you like. A SENTENCE may instead arrive as a bank of scrambled words: tap them into the right order, and tap any word again to take it back out before you check. Right, and le professeur cheers you on; wrong, and you are told the answer, le professeur encourages you, and the question comes back around later until you get it right. There is no failing — the class ends when every word has been answered, and the marking says how many you cleared first time. The expand button on the room takes the class full screen with the question and the answers still on it, and the lesson is always the full one — it covers the family and what each of them is called, the rooms, the things in them, the chores done in them, the parts of a day and the sentences a family says — what a household says to itself in a real maison. This classroom is the lesson before the French course's household.
