Spades

How to play: you and North play against West and East. Each player first bids the number of tricks they expect to take — or bids nil, claiming none at all, which is worth 100 if you take none and costs 100 if you take even one. Then thirteen tricks: follow suit if you can, and spades are always trump, though none may be led until a spade has been played on someone else's suit. A side that makes its two bids combined scores ten a trick; a side that falls short loses that much instead. Tricks over the bid are bags, worth a point each, and every ten bags cost 100. First side to 500 wins.
