How to play: you are the only server on the floor, and everything happens because you sent her to do it. Tap a party waiting at the door and she walks over, greets them, and asks how many they are; only once they have answered can you tap a table for them, and she will tell them where they are going and walk them over — a two-top will not take a party of three. She collects their menus from the host stand by the door on the way, and hands them round once everybody is sitting down. Seat them on a cloth that matches their own colour and the table pays a $12 bonus. One tap on a table does whatever that table is asking for: take the order, put down the food she is carrying, take the money, or clear the plates. She asks what they want and waits for their answer before she goes anywhere, and she stays where you left her when she runs out of things to do. An order she has taken is a slip in her apron and the cook has not seen it — everything else happens at the kitchen counter, which has three stations along it. Tap the order rail at its right-hand end to hang the slips up, and only then does the dish start cooking. It comes back up on the shelf over the middle of the counter with the table's number beside it; tap there to load her tray, which holds 2 plates. Clearing a table fills her hands with the dirty plates, and they go in the tub at the left-hand end — she can stack 2 tables before she has to walk them over. Take the money and they do not get straight up — they sit and settle the bill, and the table is theirs until they have. Every waiting party is losing patience the whole time, and the bar over their heads is what you are really playing against: it goes back to full green the moment she reaches them, so it is asking one thing — how long has this table been waiting for somebody. The tip is what was left of their mood when she came to settle up, so a table turned round quickly pays close to double one left to stew. Everything you can send her to is ringed and flashing, and the faster it flashes the worse the wait behind it — so the floor can be ranked at a glance without reading a single bar. A table with no bar wants nothing from you — reading the menu and eating both cost no patience, and how long a table takes to make its mind up is its own, so a floor seated together will not all ask at once. The room opens quiet and fills as the level wears on, so bank what you can early. From level 3 a served party sometimes knocks a drink over — a puddle appears beside the cloth, and that table can't be re-seated until you tap it and she fetches the mop from the bucket by the washroom door at the far right corner to clean it up. Every shift spills at least once at level 3, at least three times at level 4, and at least five at level 5 — the chance only ever adds more. She keeps the mop while any other spill is still out, so a whole spilled floor is one trip to the bucket, and she washes up at the sink beside it when the mop goes back. She can mop round a party still eating, so a spill caught early is a spill that never costs a seat. Three walkouts and the level is over. Make the target before the clock runs out and you take the next level, where another table joins the floor — level 1 starts with two tables and a new one is added each level until the room is full at level 4; level 5 runs the same full room again, with the door and the goal harder and the spills piling on. Win that and the game is won.
